Our client Clynderwen & Cardiganshire Farmers Ltd, originally founded in 1904, continues to be a highly successful solvent farmers’ co-operative, based in Clynderwen in South West Wales The business has a sales turnover of over £40 million generated from 18 branches and its sales force, operating throughout West Wales and across mid Wales to the English Borders.
Due to the forthcoming retirement, after 15 years, of the present Managing Director, a new person is required to lead this progressive agricultural supply business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the business.
Commercially astute, an experienced people and business manager, you will need to demonstrate a track record of sales success and business development. The following attributes will be essential for this role.
- A natural ability to create and develop effective relationships with members, customers, manufacturers and suppliers.
- An open and participative management style, which can effectively lead and motivate a results orientated staff of 150 with a board committed to grow the business and maintain farmer control.
This is a particularly attractive rural location with a very high density of dairy, beef and sheep numbers.
