R475 Herdsperson/Graduate Opportunity for Trainee Sales Nutritionist

A new Animal Feed company with a brand image for  personal customer service and a high level of technical support seeks a trainee dairy cow sales nutritionist. The company is able to offer Midlands & Welsh dairy and cattle farmers, a full portfolio of compounds and blends . A dairy cow enthusiast with knowledge of beef and sheep is required who will be fully conversant with feeding cows on-farm.

This role could suit either a dairy herds person or an agricultural college/university graduate with first class practical experience of working with dairy cows and a common sense but informed knowledge of achieving profitable milk production. Candidates should have had a minimum of three years’ experience within a large herd environment. In a challenging dairy farming industry, a self-starting and dynamic individual who can demonstrate to farmers a winning farm business empathy.

Enthusiastic candidates will learn to demonstrate their nutritional technical ability in front of leading dairy and livestock farmers by being able to provide on farm customer support and troubleshooting as required. On-going training will be provided by both the Technical Director and Sales Director – the business owners.  The candidate will have the perfect opportunity to kick start their career within the animal feed industry.

An agricultural qualification would be considered advantageous but not essential for the right candidate. An initial training programme will be developed for up to one year according to individual candidate needs.

  • Confident in approach with ability to identify sales opportunities, build good relationships and network at all levels
  • A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, an outgoing personality effective under pressure
  • Strong organizational and time management skills so that results are delivered, and deadlines met
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, adaptive and resilient with a can-do approach
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft software programmes and computer literacy.
